rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

FTSE ran opposite to DOW twice earlier in the week as well .

cashed in at 6275 (+33) as really have no wish to stay up until 01:00 local time, especially as clients to see tomorrow

FTSE pressing on through 6300 and holding would be a starting relief, but i'm not convinced it'll happen

DOW looking very soggy and dull
any half-hearted rally back over 16,700 is short-lived and then back down again 40/50 points
now bedtime over here, but it sure doesn't look too good for the morning
