rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

DOW looking very soggy and dull
any half-hearted rally back over 16,700 is short-lived and then back down again 40/50 points
now bedtime over here, but it sure doesn't look too good for the morning

No sign of Christmas Spirit just yet. My hunch is next week for the reversal. Hope so!!!!!!!!!

banked at 17,544 for no good reason other than that it was a respectable and quick profit

we are now in pretty nasty territory even in the event of a dcb

Reality setting in,., Time of the year, sell the rallies, wait till last week in Dec when volume is thin? This too will pass :0)

dow bounced off ~17400 and back through the next point at 17420, but it is/was unnerving that 17500 had little more resistance (support!) than a chocolate fireguard

gosh .... no one been here for a few days ..... shell shock?
anyway, dow looking moderately perky, but having fallen off its daily highs (again), it really could do with finding some northerly impetus

I still have a FTSE long that is slightly down but i'm staying put for now .Big rebound some where down the road .
