MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

DB Hi,

I think it will be good too, but be warned about MW comments, he will ramp the price up, but only good results and deals will keep it there !

Due to the lengthy processes that MMG have to follow, I would rather the price went up on results, deals, etc, than his ramping, that way the shorters and bashers are scuppered :)

Cheers,
PM

07 October 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 7th OCTOBER 2005

MMI APPOINTS GMP MANUFACTURER FOR
RUTHENIUM CANCER THERAPIES

- In preparation for entering clinical development -

Medical Marketing International Group plc, ('MMI') the Cambridge, UK-based
pharmaceutical development company listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM:MMG)
announces that Oncosense, MMI's wholly owned cancer therapy subsidiary, has
appointed SAFC Pharma (SAFC) to manufacture cGMP batches of the lead ruthenium
cancer therapy compounds.

SAFC, a division of Sigma-Aldrich Inc. a global leading life science and high
technology company with over 6,000 employees operating in 34 countries, has
expertise in the development and manufacturing of highly potent and cytotoxic
active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAI). SAFC's Madison, WI (USA) site is
considered one of the premier HPAI manufacturing facilities in the world. It is
one of only a few facilities certified by SafeBridge for potent compound
handling.

Mark Burton, Technical Manager, MMI, commenting on the agreement with SAFC said:
'With SAFC we have found a manufacturer with the expertise to deliver product
rapidly. Under the agreement, Oncosense will retain ownership of all existing
and any new intellectual property that arises out of the manufacturing process.
Manufacture of the ruthenium compounds will be in the USA, our largest potential
market, at SAFC's FDA approved Madison facility. SAFC is clearly the best
manufacturer for our ruthenium compounds. They have the expertise and facilities
to produce cytotoxic pharmaceuticals to cGMP standards, enabling MMI to progress
rapidly to clinical trials whilst retaining ownership of all IP.'

Dr Michael Harris, SAFC's Director of Sales and Production, Europe said: 'We are
delighted to have been chosen by MMI to manufacture their ruthenium compounds.
In selecting SAFC for this work, MMI has recognised the abilities of our
Gillingham, UK-based process development team and the unique capabilities of our
Madison high potency cGMP facility.'

David Best, MMI's Chairman further commented: 'This agreement follows closely on
from our successful 10 million institutional placing which provides us with the
funds to accelerate our manufacturing and clinical trials programmes including
those for ruthenium and our Genvax cancer vaccines.'

It was announced yesterday 10th Otober that the Prudential have acquired a further 2,407,407 ordinary shares, taking their holding to 10,026,407 ordinary shares representing 17.21% of the companys issued share capital.
They must be quietly confident.

Back in this afternoon, 122p too good to resist, almost 10% below institutions stumping up 10million quid. 2006 should be a rewarding year for MMG holders.
Again I have a personal target and won't be afraid to sell if it goes way beyond that.

goldfinger - 14 Oct 2005 23:56 - 1912 of 2444

Still in and have no problems with the long term. Just holding and awaiting the Golden return.

Remember patience in most circunstances = big returns. Have you seen how many times Ive done it before.

cheers GF.

Dil - 15 Oct 2005 01:55 - 1913 of 2444

My hero.

goldfinger - 15 Oct 2005 02:05 - 1914 of 2444

I love you Dil, but remember Wales have no chance this year in the rugby Union. England easy.

cheers GF.

Dil - 15 Oct 2005 12:06 - 1915 of 2444

We didn't have a chance last year either :-)

hampi_man - 15 Oct 2005 12:43 - 1916 of 2444

nice to know you're still around GF, I've been fairly impressed over the last year with your picks, maybe you should start your own thread on your weekly or monthly suggestions / ideas on the stocks you like, just a thought (that would certainly help us amateurs)

swseun - 21 Oct 2005 23:53 - 1917 of 2444

Any opinions out there? MMG has been dropped from 175p since early September, but I am still holding.
cheers

goldfinger - 22 Oct 2005 00:21 - 1918 of 2444

Just dig in there freind. Evils still pushing his short and I suspect is responsible for a lot of the downside.

Best thing is to not give him any air time etc, etc.

Im just holding and awaiting in difficult times like this.

cheers GF.

swseun - 22 Oct 2005 04:02 - 1919 of 2444

thanks GF, just want to know I am the only one still holding it with a loss.

mitzy - 22 Oct 2005 09:42 - 1920 of 2444

If it falls sub 100p Im in with a shed full..not that it will fall that low but you never know with this market.
Finns note suggests we wont have long to wait for the Genvax efficacy results out several months ahead of schedule.. great news.

doughboy66 - 22 Oct 2005 10:35 - 1921 of 2444

Good to see you back mitzy,i wondered where you had got to.Early on in the year you were a frequent poster on this board and really seemed to have your finger on the pulse of this company, don`t leave it so long to post again.

swseun i`m holding at a loss after adding to my holding a couple of times during the big rise in sp earlier in the year.
I`m still very confident about MMG ,given that the Prudential have just added to their holding and the appointment of SAFC to manufacture batches of ruthenium cancer therapies.Given the recent turmoil in the markets and the recent placing of shares MMG`s share price is about where it was when i first bought in back in Febuary, not so bad really is it?

Roll on 2006

swseun - 22 Oct 2005 14:09 - 1922 of 2444

great! so I'm not alone in the boat, thanks guys. :-) I might buy in more while the price gets more stable, as MMI is a great company with too good potential.

mitzy - 22 Oct 2005 16:38 - 1923 of 2444

Stock prime for a bounce/rise.....Market flat to short, AGM next Wed, intensive note from Insinger due after AGM, Genvax data late Nov/early Dec and hopefully tie up before year end with big pharma.....big 6 to 8 weeks ahead for MMI. Theres more stuff due now than there was back in March and we saw how the price reacted then......
