Good evening all
Can I add my name to the "who the hell are they" list. I don't recognise any of them and only that street porter, Janet somebody or other rings a faint bell. Funny jobs people have these days, IT man, street porter. Whatever next.

Ah ha! Lots and lots of special lemon drizzle cake for everybody! (Sorry for the delay. Can you believe the police turned up?!)

Lemon Drizzle sounds lovely Priscilla. As does the vision of policemen standing on their heads!
I think I'll save the cake for afters, I rather fancy baked beans on fried bread for tea.

I'm glad you liked the cake. Sorry it was still warm from the oven, but lamby said he liked caked before they had cooled completely. All the better with ice-cream.....

Not a lot Opto, just picked up a few phrases along the way. The usual sort of stuff like asking the price "Emma Chissit?" You know the sort of thing.

That sounds like a similar famous Q in Barnsley..... 'OW MUCH' usually said with a great deal of expression

I'll just pop another log on the fire and have a snooze for an hour in the fireside chair, feel as though I need it. Hope the girls are quiet when they come in.

Opto
I'm not sure its that complicated. It's OK once you get used to the composite words they use to form phrases like "wassamarrabloo, donchaspeekstrine?" I think it may derive from Aborigine but I was very surprised to hear it spoken in Cheltenham, very cosmopolitan here.
