FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

The DOW was short lived ,FTSE holding up though ..

Stan - 17 Dec 2015 16:02 - 19145 of 21973

OK Alf it's your turn today, hows the Dow going to finish tonight, I must know not later then 4.15pm today.

cynic - 17 Dec 2015 16:07 - 19146 of 21973

let's put it this way ...... you have arguably missed an entry point at 17,600, but the market is clearly in a mood to catch its breath

i very much doubt that DOW will close positive, but interesting to note that FTSE has remained comparatively firm

dreamcatcher - 17 Dec 2015 16:09 - 19147 of 21973

I thought you would be more worried on the 60 pips you need on the ftse Stan. :-))

crash, bank, wallop!
that more than wipes out yesterday's gain on wall street, and the pain will be felt in london tomorrow

cynic - 17 Dec 2015 21:29 - 19155 of 21973

hmm
looks like no support immediately in sight for dow, and ftse will do well to hold its nerve

Stan - 17 Dec 2015 22:58 - 19156 of 21973

Top up day then tomorrow by the looks.
