Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Dil, do you know that I could spend the money I received selling my BPRG holding on buying them back and have 2.5 times the number of shares. Doesn't that sound like good business?

(postcards once again to Auntie Blodwyn)

In reality, (1) I have a holding in an illiquid share (JCR) that I don't want to sell, and (2) I wouldn't punt on BPRG again until I am convinced they have good management in place. The current CEO is in need of a lot of help on the board (assuming he can survive at all).

Driver is right to say that there comes a time when a share is so low that it becomes a recovery play but you have to be sure the seeds of recovery are shooting. Regus is probably the obvious example.

If I had a big spread of shares, I would be looking at BPRG as a possible recovery punt but it is too early at the moment. If anything, more bad news is needed to scare off all the buyers. There is still too much optimism among those not already bankrupted. It will probably come following the "strategic and financial" review being carried out. I always was concerned that they didn't have a top 4 auditor.

Fred1new - 15 Apr 2005 00:18 - 1922 of 2372

Dil, I think short to-morrow for a little while. Only for the brave

Dil - 15 Apr 2005 08:46 - 1923 of 2372

Fred .... I'm waiting for the dust to settle , too volatile and unpredictable at present.

Big Al - 15 Apr 2005 19:58 - 1924 of 2372

Evening.

I'm away so am really just catching up, although I did see Wednesday's crash on my mobile whilst travelling.

First comment - when a stock breaks up through resistance or down through support on high volume, something's up and you should take heed. On this occasion the chart prediction proved correct, although, as ever, BPRG overshot! ;-)

Second comment - just because a few shorters closed positions does not make this one a buy.

Third comment - warnings are rarely single. There is a very decent chance (far better than even) of another in the coming months and some people follow the rule that it ain't safe to get in until the third one is out of the way. I'd give it some time to settle before jumping in. She'll be volatile for a while.

Fourth comment - never, ever, ever buy a "blue sky" stock, with a view to holding for some time, on margin. It may be fuelled by greed, but this is investment suicide. Although I commiserate with some, it may well get rid of others who really had no place being in this game. Leveraged products are for traders, not investors!

Didn't want to get into a battle here, but hopefully these comments will be taken in the context they're supposed to be, i.e. helpful!

Al

Hurry hurry Hurry, BPRG up .75% buy it now before it drops back.

To late!!

Ain't this thread quiet?

What interests me when the market is down there seems to be quite a few reasonable sized buys.

hlyeo98 - 20 Apr 2005 08:31 - 1926 of 2372

shooting up now...people realising that BPRG has been oversold lately... bought in today

hlyeo98 - 20 Apr 2005 08:33 - 1927 of 2372

superrod - 20 Apr 2005 08:37 - 1928 of 2372

hlyeo98 - 20 Apr 2005 08:55 - 1929 of 2372

thanks, superrod.

Fred1new - 20 Apr 2005 09:39 - 1930 of 2372

BPRG is held by a number of large institutions. Bought at varying prices as long term holds.

As above I believe there hasn't been any large institutional sells recently and a few buys reasonable sized institutional buys to-day (19th/4/05).

Interesting it has about 14.4Mil in cash and NAV of about 14.4p.

I have bought worse, but glad I bought at about 27p Wed.

superrod - 20 Apr 2005 10:28 - 1931 of 2372

i bought at 35.96 and im out for now at 41p......experience tells me there is invariably a fall back in these situations.

Dil - 20 Apr 2005 11:26 - 1932 of 2372

hyleo - what happened to your "bargain" shares you were buying at 73p ?

bhunt1910 - 20 Apr 2005 12:28 - 1933 of 2372

I have monitored BPRG for a while - but dont hold any shares at the moment - (have done). Glad to see that they are bouncing back for those of you still holding. I still think that BPRG has some great products and a lot of potential- but dont know how to market them.

Good Luck all

Bazag
