cynic - 13 Feb 2012 15:40 - 200 of 682

never buy new cars is my motto; greatest depreciation is almost certainly year 1 ..... demo car with almost zilch on the clock and 2 of the 3 years guarantee to run, but about 25% cheaper than new, even through main dealer

TANKER - 13 Feb 2012 15:42 - 201 of 682

cynic i always buy new ever year tax

cynic - 13 Feb 2012 15:44 - 202 of 682

only fools throw away their money like that; why waste your money giving so much to the HMRC?

TANKER - 13 Feb 2012 18:26 - 203 of 682

cynic . i do not mind paying tax just do not like it going to lazy immigrants coming here for a free ride . and i can tell you this in 2010 immigrants cost the uk 44b . and if do not believe this ask your MP if he is honest

cynic - 13 Feb 2012 20:04 - 204 of 682

the response is that you think people who choose "to throw away their money on Sky or watching football" are idiots .... exactly the same argument fits you who chooses to throw away money to HMRC for stupidly buying a brand new car every year

TANKER - 13 Feb 2012 20:18 - 205 of 682

A council worker today admitted to claiming more than £200,000 in benefits despite having three jobs and a property portfolio worth more than £500,000.
Gladys Popoola's six-year web of deception, which involved using a false identity and claiming to be unmarried and out-of-work, only came to an end today when she admitted to 16 counts relating to fraud.

Popoola, who has a 17-month-old baby, was warned she can expect a custodial sentence when she returns to Southwark Crown Court for sentencing on March 16.
The 47-year-old owned three homes in London and property in Kenya. She was receiving rental income from these homes as well as working for three companies.

However Popoola fraudulently claimed benefits by failing to declare that she was living with her husband, who was working, instead claiming she was unmarried in applications for income support, housing benefit, council tax benefit and special grant.
She also admitted today to lying in order to get legal aid in civil proceedings against her.
Popoola's jobs included two with housing groups and employment with Hammersmith and Fulham Council, which she obtained using a false national insurance number and the fake name Gladys Gitonga.
She confessed today to 13 counts of making false representation for benefit purposes, one of obtaining property by deception, a national insurance number in April 2004, one of fraud by false representation and one of possessing an article, namely a false national insurance number, for use in fraud

cynic - 13 Feb 2012 20:23 - 207 of 682

don't be so touchy .... the point i was making was that people have the freedom of choice to spend their money as they choose .... just because you think them "silly" - i.e. it would not be your choice - does not mean you are remotely corect

TANKER - 13 Feb 2012 20:23 - 208 of 682

cynic that is what makes me feel sick

optomistic - 14 Feb 2012 09:36 - 209 of 682

goldfinger - 14 Feb 2012 09:41 - 210 of 682

I see were up to day..just ha ha ha.

The arguments these B/Boards can cause. LOL got to laugh.

goldfinger - 14 Feb 2012 09:44 - 211 of 682

Anyway I think this, if youve paid into the system your entitled to benefits as long as your not fiddling. Those who havent paid into the system should get nothing.

Im dead against means testing on child benefit or winter fuel allowance.

If youve paid in its yours, if you havent dont ask.
