Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

I should have waited for the dip..ah well at least we are back at the level post & waiting for the profit takers to go about their business. Pleased to be in these & so thanks for the tip Prop.

who knows how large the contract is but my understanding from the company if that the big pitches will be in jan/feb. i believe this contract awarded was surprisingly early even for the company. trading update in jan should add meat.

company has been clearly rerated and a few contract wins against BT could easily see ESY skip back to the 150-200p range.

just one mans humble opinion....

joehargan1 - 23 Dec 2004 09:37 - 195 of 602

it will skip back up again today and agree that 150 not an unrasonable mid term target.

i am hearing positive noises in the market. after the hefty drop due to the now complete seller there is no overhang to keep these lower. i have also been watching the trades over the last few days and i would hazzard a guess that the fact that we have not seen a retracement after such a hefty rise would indicate that the buyers are far from complete.

my hand on heart call is 125p at least by or just after the jan trading statement.

merry xmas!

35% gain in three months for me, well chuffed.

Stll cheap imo and it would seem sentiment has turned which should see us get back to 1.30 to 1.50 next year.

Merry xmas proptrade, well done for keeping the thread going over the "difficult" period.

TRADING; looking to get a consortium together to develop prop trading company ideally in surrey kent area, have been working in city futures options side planning to relocate out. interest?. perhaps initial communications can be through this link until response/contacts can be taken further. in working with prop trading company this has given me ideas, but would be seeking team to progress. potentially geared to equity trading.

Hope everyone is enjoying the start to their year and had a good night last night. Some press today that is of interest.

"Easynet is the telecoms tiddler that is setting itself up to give BT a run for its money with broadband connections. It is risky but despite the hoo-ha of recent years telecoms firms have long-term growth qualities unrivalled by most industrial sectors."

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,8211-1421260,00.html

An article on the Telegraph worth reading. Fund managers give their tips on companies and sectors and Telecoms get a positive mention from a few.

Some other links to recent press in December regarding Easynet through this Google link, too many of them to paste here!

HNY...onwards an upwards in ESY!

i am sure some consolidation is on the way but with a trading statement expected this month we could see a real rise ahead of us, especially if the statement contains news of intersted ISP's looking at the LLU service. exciting times ahead.

gavdfc - 04 Jan 2005 15:16 - 207 of 602

Happy New Year to you all!

Received the December email from Hargreave Hale and had this little snippet in it regarding ESY:

"A lot of people remain resolutely pessimistic about telecoms. They think that pricing pressures continue, there
is too much infrastructure capacity, still far too much competition and a continuing requirement to upgrade
software services all putting pressure on cash flows. But there are exceptions that could prove the rule.
Easynet (high risk) is cash rich despite a heavy infrastructure spend now largely completed and is growing
revenues whilst maintaining high gross margins with the board confident of achieving its accelerated targets
for cash flow generation. It is now tying up multi year contracts on broadband services and is a prime
beneficiary of the pressures on BT to accelerate local loop unbundling. Its time might have come as it becomes
cash flow positive in 2005."

Here's to 2005! Some new contracts would be a excellent start to the year.

proptrade - 04 Jan 2005 15:26 - 208 of 602

oooh, lovely. have a look at AMEC. moving again as i am sure the bid rumour mill will start...a 10% trade over the next couple of weeks....IMHO!

gavdfc - 04 Jan 2005 15:34 - 209 of 602

Will keep my eye on it, cheers. You've got email.

proptrade - 04 Jan 2005 15:40 - 210 of 602
