silly Q no doubt, but why, if IEC's revenues increased by 500% didi their losses also increase? ..... not at all clear from RNS

niceonecyril - 10 Sep 2007 08:49 - 194 of 896

I can only think its to do with the massive program of investment in the inferstructure, and hopefully will start to bare fruit in the coming months?
Pipelines built, 7 new wells (6 successful)fraccing, 5 new wells either being
drilled or about 2b spudded and 3 new rigs on order.
I believe this is addressed in the 2nd paragraph of the financials. It is worth knowing that the tax on production is very high, some 90% on prices above
$27(?) a barrel.

Loss due to massive admin costs see profit & loss account.

niceonecyril - 11 Sep 2007 09:03 - 196 of 896

The small investment reported today by a director is worth 18,000 and would buy a whole lot of goods in Russia.

Halifax; IEC have only been in business 3 years, and their achievements
outstanding. The reason companies come to the market is to provide funds to
allow them to grow, it is expected to lose money in its early stages. The
enormous program that we have, must require a great deal of planning. Well
worth reading the financial part, which adequately accounts for such losses.

Am travelling ands detail was not available when i left yesterday.
why such massive increase in admin costs ..... fine to baldly state such but ..... no have still not had time to read, but on face of it, does not sound good

niceonecyril - 11 Sep 2007 13:49 - 198 of 896

Cynic, much down to the cost of transfering to the main market.
Another RNS director dealing, P Livine increases his holdings to
9.15%, ok so he got them at 5. He also has aTLIP which if exercised will
increase to 10.45% his holding.
Other report today Fidelity have reduced their holding by over 400,000 to 4.92%?
They could of course sell another 1% before we find out, does look as though some are covering themselves?

A slightly worrying fact i'ved uncovered, is that Fidelity was at the presentation by Mitvol?

Imperial Energy Corporation PLC
17 September 2007

IMPERIAL ENERGY CORPORATION PLC
("Imperial")

GAS JOINT VENTURE WITH TOMSK ADMINISTRATION AGREED

Imperial, the oil and gas company, today announces a joint venture being
currently incorporated between Imperial and the Tomsk Regional Administration in
relation to Imperial's potentially significant gas reserves.

Imperial, in partnership with the Tomsk Regional Administration have agreed to
create a joint venture for the supply of gas on a commercial basis for the
benefit of the local administration and the region.

The joint venture vehicle, to be named "Imperial Energy Tomsk Gaz" will be owned
26 per cent by the Tomsk Administration with the balance held by an Imperial
Group Company.

Imperial has already identified potentially significant gas deposits in its
licensed territories including in Blocks 77 and 69. Whilst at present Imperial
has only a small amount of Russian Registered gas reserves and no SPE based gas
reserves it is targeting a material increase as it continues its exploration
work in the region.

Imperial, as its part of the business will be responsible for providing its gas
to the joint venture company which will then be supplied through Imperial Energy
Tomsk Gaz to its customers.

In parallel with the setting up of the joint venture, Imperial is asking the
international reserves auditors DeGolyer and MacNaughton to report for the
first time, on an SPE basis, on Imperial's gas reserves in selected fields at
the same time as updating Imperial's oil reserves, with an expected report
publication date of Spring 2008. Imperial is also taking steps to commence the
process of increasing its Russian Registered Gas Reserves.

Peter Levine, Chairman, commented:

"This joint venture at one stroke provides the platform for unlocking the value
of potentially significant gas reserves of Imperial and the foundation for
providing material assistance and benefit to the region of Tomsk, its people and
businesses

This is good news, hopefully the start of cementing relations with the Bear.

cynic - 17 Sep 2007 16:11 - 203 of 896

cynic - 17 Sep 2007 18:47 - 206 of 896

cynic - 18 Sep 2007 15:19 - 207 of 896

heavy traffic here today ..... volume already 1.9m against 3 month avr of about 550k ..... just possibly starting to bubble

as chart shows below, sp has just poked its nose through the (quite important) 25 dma for the first time since mid June

blanche - 18 Sep 2007 16:44 - 208 of 896

Your right cynic the charts have turned positive. Up 5.39% to 919 excellent day, if we can see this week through, we should be on the road back to 15. Lets not get to excited just yet. Lets see where we stand on Friday 4.30.

cynic - 18 Sep 2007 16:49 - 209 of 896

i even topped up today to somewhat o'weight ..... how's that for trust in your (not mine!) judgement?!

niceonecyril - 18 Sep 2007 22:01 - 210 of 896

Well over 3 million trade by close(27m), IEC has often responded prior to news release, so lets hope thats the case this time?
cyril

cynic - 19 Sep 2007 08:54 - 211 of 896

25 dma nnow soundly breached with strong impetus, and 50 dma now just about broken ..... if that holds through today's close, then very encouraging indeed until 200 dma hit at abiut 1030; that often proves quite a hurdle, though IEC is strongly driven by sentiment rather than underlying value or fundamentals
