Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Duchess of Cambridge pregnant
The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby, St James's Palace has announced.
Members of the royal family and the duchess's family, the Middletons, are said to be delighted.
A spokesman said the duchess has been admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in central London with very acute morning sickness and is expected to stay for several days.
Catherine and William were married at Westminster Abbey in April 2011.

Interesting to see the government spokeswoman squirming in the "debate" on legislation on Leveson report.
What a stinking government of cowards who are not prepared to stand up to paper giants,

There are suggestions from one of the advisors to Leveson that legislation may be illegal under EU rules.

The Prime Minister wants to ignore Leveson and leave the media to clean up its own mess. The Murdoch mafia is pulling all the strings it can, but so far they haven’t convinced the Lib Dems. So if MPs hear our voices today as they debate in Parliament, Cameron will have to cut the media down to size, for fear of splitting the coalition. Sign the petition now!

I prefer no legal regulation.

Why not.
What is there to be frightened of by law.
We have it in majority of professional areas of our society.
Why should the news media be any different, especially when they have abuse self regulation for years?

I think it will inhibit publishing of items that can be of benefit to the pubkic. The media should just be subject to the same laws as the average person.

Fred, The only reason why H/S prefers no legal action is because it would be "effective" at controlling the Murdoch press.

post 19251 repeated ....
i confess i haven't really bothered to follow this, but i dare say the "divergence of opinion" is that there is a fear of a slippery slope to losing freedom of speech (and the press) ...... for all that, i would not have thought it that fundamental to any particular party standpoint that one couldn't just allow a free vote

Get control of the media and you can drip feed the less intelligent of the populace with the proper-gander that suits the Party line, If you want evidence of that just look across the Atlantic and see how it's been done over there for years.

Iran: US ScanEagle drone 'captured over Gulf'
The Iranian military says it has captured an unmanned US drone in its airspace over Gulf waters.
The Revolutionary Guards said they had brought down a ScanEagle aircraft - one of the smaller, less sophisticated drones employed by the Americans.

Thatcher was only ditched when they realised that she was an election liability.
The Tory Party has never been anything but what it's always been, Which is an organisation on behalf of Big Business and predominately for Big Business's interests.

Well tomorrow will be interesting for some.
Osborne's report, which should be an apology will show how much he and Cameron have ruin the economy by being pigheaded.
The only decent thing the Cameroon can do is fire his trusted "fag" Georgie Boy and then resign as the majority of his own party wish him to do.
It seems that many of the tory party want to replace him with Fauxpage, because it seems the majority of the present tory followers, will be voting BNP or UKIP.
Osborne, has b. the country and Cameroon is being b. by the press barons.
The latter is gutless. Never mind he can always go out on the Boxing Day Hunt with Beccy and Jeremiah.
Got a feeling Murdock won't be at the party!
What pack of incompetents.
