How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Under the strategy for greening up on football, is it better to have a profit on what you believe the likely result will be plus 0 on each of the other two outcomes.
Or a smaller profit on all three possible outcomes?

"Or a smaller profit on all three possible outcomes?"
That's the method I recommend on the basis that you will get lots of wins and it will feel much better than a semi random assortment of bigger wins. In the long run both will average each other out but losing a chunk of money in the last ten minutes is always painful even if you have no money at risk. Therefore I always suggest a smaller profit on all.

I heard the commentators talking about it and noticed the move as well. But didn't do anything with it.

A couple of hypothetical questions if i may:
1) as an example - Arsenal are playing Southampton and i back Arsenal for 100 at 1.6 prior to kick off. As expected after 10 minutes Arsenal take the lead and I choose to green up at 1.2. Then the unbelievable happens and Southampton equalise a few minutes later. Effectively, Arsenal are back trading at approx 1.6 - would you in this situation back Arsenal again and if so do you do so for your original stake or do you just use your profit or would you leave alone, protecting your earlier profit
2) i was trying to work out the relationship, in the football when the score is 0-0, between the price for next team to score and the potential profit if having backed the favourite you green up. this was brought to my attention in a german football game with low volume and the prices may have been a bit distorted. the home side were 1.9 to win and 1.7 to score the next goal. they duly scored after 10 minutes and their price dropped to approx 1.3 - now the profit here is clearly greater having backed them to score next rather than backing them to win and greening up ( i accept part of this is that they could go 1-0 down and come back to win). obviously if the goal was not scored until the 89th minute then the profit would be greater on backing and greening up than backing next goalscorer. In this case there must be a crossover point ie if the goal is scored in the first 65 min then you are better backing next scorer rather than the win and greening up. obviously there is an opportunity to play the two markets off against each other - is this something you use or have looked at?
