We have made encouraging advances in the development of new technologies.
Conductive Inkjet Technology ('CIT') has now, through its partner Preco
Industries, issued the first firm quotation for MetalJet 6000 systems for RFID
applications. CIT is also making excellent progress in broadening the
application universe for the CIT process. Other developments are on track to
support the future growth of the group. The most commercially advanced of these
applications is our soluble capsule project with Stanelco. This has made good
progress, with the new SmartCap concept being very well received.

as a "normal" investor outside of stockland and not party to all the various ins and outs - one of the main things I deal with in my job is "root cause analysis" - i.e. ignore the hyperbole and rumour grapevine - hold fast and do something when you get to the bottom of things.... so ...buy,sell tips, x zillion posts - hold fast until....

Its took a while for me to get around to this lot today.
Am I being stupid, and not knowing what the hell is going on here??
Could the quotations for the Inkjet technologies mentioned in the RNS be anything at all to do with the printers that had caused a hold up with Asda?
What am I, confused, overly optomistic or in need of a long lie down?
Someone help me out here.

Just because trials are on-going doesn't mean any profit, (or orders either). Supermarkets need to satisfy two criteria
1) Keep the stock Moving
and
2) Keep customers believing.
Therefore these new-fangled trays are part of the second and the lack of orders part of the first.
Only when it can be shown beyond doubt that the new packing is better and cheaper will No1 be satisfied and only then will SEO get an order......but I'm begining to lose the plot - what is SEO selling?
1) It seems it's not the machines as they have had to buy one, we hear (for trials).
2) It must be the boxes, eh? Where will they make these boxes in the qty a supermarket needs?
No, I'm sorry I don't understand SEO ...and their last agm was no help, with the air-con being louder than the Execs. What a belter. I hold these from 10 times so I'm really Stupid...but I didn't buy many, Phew!.
So what other prospects do they have that propelled the sp to nearly 25p?
Remember execs bought lots at 3p-ish so even now they are sitting pretty. I suspect we need new execs who CAN steer this vessel.

hangon - SEO are selling a license to use their RF sealing technology. They are not in the business of making the sealing machines. They said this clearly in a statement some time back, but everybody seems to want to ignore this.

driver - isn't the key word there 'Partner'
SEO have the technology, Mondini make the machines.
From SEO's last trading statement:
Since 2000, Stanelco's business model has transformed from a manufacturer and
supplier of capital goods into an intellectual property company with interests
in markets with significant growth potential, which include sustainable
packaging and environmentally responsible sealing solutions for the packaging
industry.

Trading update
Further to the trading update on 17 August 2006, the Company is continuing to
negotiate with the two parties with which it signed letters of intent to
compound Starpol resin for the US market, and contracts are in the process of
being finalised.
As the Company's portfolio of products moves closer to commercialisation, the
costs of this have increased relative to those in the first half of the
financial year. As a result, the Company now expects that the loss for the six
months to 31 October 2006 will moderately exceed that of the first half.
The Company is making good progress in discussions on the financing options
available to it and will update the market once any further information is
available.
