No doubt one of many things going on behind the scenes we don't hear about everyday.Still holding.

mtwallit - 07 Sep 2006 09:47 - 19662 of 27111

as a "normal" investor outside of stockland and not party to all the various ins and outs - one of the main things I deal with in my job is "root cause analysis" - i.e. ignore the hyperbole and rumour grapevine - hold fast and do something when you get to the bottom of things.... so ...buy,sell tips, x zillion posts - hold fast until....
:-) my thought for the day

hewittalan6 - 07 Sep 2006 13:53 - 19663 of 27111

Its took a while for me to get around to this lot today.
Am I being stupid, and not knowing what the hell is going on here??
Could the quotations for the Inkjet technologies mentioned in the RNS be anything at all to do with the printers that had caused a hold up with Asda?
What am I, confused, overly optomistic or in need of a long lie down?
Someone help me out here.

Straws & clutching Alan! Same paragraph different sentence, plus relating to RFID not RF Sealing.

tweenie - 07 Sep 2006 14:22 - 19665 of 27111

alan , if nothing else, The carclo capsules show there yet more 'jam tomorrow'.
It's enough to make a grown man cry.

hewittalan6 - 07 Sep 2006 14:27 - 19666 of 27111

Long lie down time then ;-)
For a nasty moment i was thinking WHAT???? Quotes not orders, when the stuff will be in the shops anytime (allegedly).
PHHEEEWWW.

Hows it going on the Stanelco boat? the depths of 1p are looking pretty tasty. - Would just love to be a shorter on this share, guarenteed profit.

Biscuit - 07 Sep 2006 14:49 - 19668 of 27111

Have they recieved FDA approval for Starpol 3000 yet, they did say that they expected it to be a matter of weeks, I think that was back in February?

hangon - 07 Sep 2006 14:51 - 19669 of 27111

Just because trials are on-going doesn't mean any profit, (or orders either). Supermarkets need to satisfy two criteria
1) Keep the stock Moving
and
2) Keep customers believing.

Therefore these new-fangled trays are part of the second and the lack of orders part of the first.
Only when it can be shown beyond doubt that the new packing is better and cheaper will No1 be satisfied and only then will SEO get an order......but I'm begining to lose the plot - what is SEO selling?
1) It seems it's not the machines as they have had to buy one, we hear (for trials).
2) It must be the boxes, eh? Where will they make these boxes in the qty a supermarket needs?

No, I'm sorry I don't understand SEO ...and their last agm was no help, with the air-con being louder than the Execs. What a belter. I hold these from 10 times so I'm really Stupid...but I didn't buy many, Phew!.
So what other prospects do they have that propelled the sp to nearly 25p?
Remember execs bought lots at 3p-ish so even now they are sitting pretty. I suspect we need new execs who CAN steer this vessel.

tweenie - 07 Sep 2006 15:58 - 19670 of 27111

Remember. the green cross code.
Remember, remember the 5th of november.
remember it's my money, free will . etc.

:-)

StarFrog - 07 Sep 2006 16:02 - 19671 of 27111

hangon - SEO are selling a license to use their RF sealing technology. They are not in the business of making the sealing machines. They said this clearly in a statement some time back, but everybody seems to want to ignore this.

driver - 07 Sep 2006 16:08 - 19672 of 27111

StarFrog
From the research page.

20) Stanelco Confirms Mondini as Manufacturing Partner

Stanelco Confirms Mondini as Manufacturing Partner; Companies Team up to Develop New RF-seal Tray Lidding Machines

StarFrog - 07 Sep 2006 16:18 - 19673 of 27111

driver - isn't the key word there 'Partner'

SEO have the technology, Mondini make the machines.

From SEO's last trading statement:

Since 2000, Stanelco's business model has transformed from a manufacturer and
supplier of capital goods into an intellectual property company with interests
in markets with significant growth potential, which include sustainable
packaging and environmentally responsible sealing solutions for the packaging
industry.

Worrier - 07 Sep 2006 17:45 - 19674 of 27111

aldwickk - 08 Sep 2006 07:18 - 19675 of 27111

Stanelco PLC ('Stanelco' or 'the Company')

8 September 2006

Trading update

Further to the trading update on 17 August 2006, the Company is continuing to
negotiate with the two parties with which it signed letters of intent to
compound Starpol resin for the US market, and contracts are in the process of
being finalised.

As the Company's portfolio of products moves closer to commercialisation, the
costs of this have increased relative to those in the first half of the
financial year. As a result, the Company now expects that the loss for the six
months to 31 October 2006 will moderately exceed that of the first half.

The Company is making good progress in discussions on the financing options
available to it and will update the market once any further information is
available.

Well I'm here.
What would you like??
Alan

Mad Pad - 08 Sep 2006 07:49 - 19677 of 27111

Nothing new there then.

Tonyrelaxes - 08 Sep 2006 07:59 - 19678 of 27111

MadPad, I don't fully agree.

August RNS said ".. believes that these will lead to contracts in the
short term."

Today the 'belief' has gone and they are saying ".. contracts are in the process of
being finalised."

Nothing from anyone within the Company within the RNS. Must be a first!

Mad Pad - 08 Sep 2006 08:12 - 19679 of 27111

Tony,I stand corrected you are right.Tell me again the figures on a MMP.

hewittalan6 - 08 Sep 2006 08:19 - 19680 of 27111

Just to extrapolate on that imprtant point Tony made;
In the 17/8 RNS the letters of intent were to satisfy a demand expressed by supermarket chain(s) and fast food chain(s) in America. One can only assume then that the demand remains from these people, Starpol is wanted by them. Otherwise the letters of intent would have fizzled away. The contracts for production is only half the story.
