Evening all,
jeffmack,
Please register me for the GG comp, would be nice to lose some virtual money instead of the real thing for a change....lol
In lieu of my legendary nag-hobbling capabilities I will celebrate my winnings now with a bottle of DP VIN....just in case...

Having experienced the wonderful accoustics of this place in a suitably quiet period, took the liberty of re-calibrating 5 of the stack cross-over units to obviate 2 of the dead spots which I encountered on my last visit, though the final one towards the left-hand end of the bar area could only be addressed by re-directing one mid-range unit by 18 degrees. Locating this problem caused me great difficulty given the circular bar.
Spaceman please note, any opera fanatics with a penchant for music ranging higher than 1 octave over top C will require the installation of 2 more directional tweeters, ceiling mounted, 18 feet either side of the RED bubble-gum machine, to gain full spectrum reproduction. In order to accommodate this potential need and to increase the flexibility of the system, all audio feeds have been replaced with impedance-balanced platinum leads, pre-amps have been cross-synchronised, and the digital/analogue decoder chips replaced with guaranteed micro-crack free, space-station grown Gallium Arsenide jobs provided by a pal at NASA.
Power-amps have been upgraded to demolition grade items, driving kevlar/carbon fibre composite cones, sorry I blew the original units but then titanium is so yesterday!
It should be noted that the system now has a user limit of 657 dB continuous, 876* dB peak, that should pin bunnies ears back.....:-)
(*This is enough to convert a trader brain to soup @ 219 yards, cable traders needn't concern themselves!!
After all that, time for a well earned rest,
Gotta blow

Stormcaller thanks for the accoutics upgrade and explanation of the strange problems we have been having when hosting opera. ;-)
On a slightly more serious note, are you involved in room correction? I have been looking into active room correction recently, this now seems to be a possibility and to a high quality, TACT is the name that I have read most about however I am interested in the possibilty of making a PC based active correction system possibly fully digital even including digital amps.

Time for a quick coffee on the way back from a school run.
Jeff please add me to the list of Cheltenham losers. I have lived 10 miles from the racecourse for 8 years and never actually attended the NH Festival.
A friend invited me to the New Years day meet there this January and I backed No.2 for the first 3 races. No.1 won in each case.
On the fourth race I backed No.1 and No.2 won. I got to the last race having lost all day and having decided that I couldn't work out a proper risk-managed strategy akin to trading rules. This plunging business might have been ok for Jesse Livermore but I can't handle it.
So I put 20 on the horse with the longest odds (66-1) in the last race out of total contrarian desperation and it won.
Next time I'll go for the crack and keep my hands in my pockets.
Coffee gone, tongue burnt, must dash...
