Careful ! one ought to be : EK has dumped this....."on lower expectations" !.

Big Al - 06 Nov 2008 09:13 - 199 of 544

We can be either right or wrong, cyninc. ;-0

cynic - 06 Nov 2008 09:16 - 200 of 544

RF .... at worst, the downside is the whole of my smallish investment, but as AL points out in his knowledgeable post, the upside is potentially significant

required field - 06 Nov 2008 09:16 - 201 of 544

One of the biggest problems with small speculative stocks is : "the promising acreages", they can have loads of different propositions for drilling but the bottom line is : what is down there ?, this has bits and pieces all over the place....drilling all this will cost a packet...could be further drops for the sp to come !.

Big Al - 06 Nov 2008 09:24 - 202 of 544

rf - you are not wrong. You need some exposure to high risk stuff, though. I just think this one has less risk than others after this fall.

required field - 07 Nov 2008 08:38 - 203 of 544

Big Al.....this will at some stage rebound but from where....sp might slide below 10p....by the way....I have lots of risky small oilies...check out PTR....progress being made and sp on the recovery !.

required field - 07 Nov 2008 09:03 - 204 of 544

Euhhh !, was it something I said ?, sp on the slide again !.

Big Al - 07 Nov 2008 09:07 - 205 of 544

rf - please keep quiet in future! ;-)))))

required field - 07 Nov 2008 09:12 - 206 of 544

Sorry Big Al....shall stick a ping pong ball in my mouth.....mmmmmmm !, that just leaves the fingers free !.

Big Al - 07 Nov 2008 09:36 - 207 of 544

LOL!

required field - 07 Nov 2008 09:55 - 208 of 544

As it is....below 10p.....have decided to join you....got in (very small punt) at 10p exactly.....though this could be going lower still if the next wildcat well is a duster......in 3 to 4 months ...should be back above 15p !.

shadow - 08 Nov 2008 13:12 - 209 of 544

Encore oil. Drilling at Breagh provided evidence of an appraisal well drilled at East Breah in August will be followed by a second at West breagh this month. It is also confirmed gas at its Barbarossa well and production will start early next year. Encore still ended the half year with better than expected cash position and also sold its Amstel asset in Netherlands. Broker KBC peel hunt values En Core at 90p a share. A Strong BUY. for Encore Oil.

shadow - 08 Nov 2008 13:19 - 210 of 544

star energy is to drill a well to test the pressure at Esmond shortly. Assumeing the appraisal is on course. Indications are comeing in that this well is successfull. Encore will deliver the technical as mentioned and on course to reach new highs.

mcmahons - 10 Nov 2008 12:05 - 211 of 544

Well worth a punt at this price.
When did KBC release re-value to 90p shadow.

required field - 10 Nov 2008 14:24 - 212 of 544

I must be mad but could not resist not doubling up.....I'm going from a doubter to a surprise punter on recovery for this one....!, it is now cheap even if we dismiss Esmond as a failure and that still remains to be seen !.

Big Al - 10 Nov 2008 14:26 - 213 of 544

That was my reasoning as well, rf, so we're probably both in the doo-doo. ;-)))

mcmahons - 10 Nov 2008 14:27 - 214 of 544

Agree at this price its well cheap.
Watch FTO expecting a bounce there latest update inline with expectations.

required field - 10 Nov 2008 17:15 - 215 of 544

Even lower....but on 10000 shares only makes : 24 or so that I would have saved had I delayed my top up....on an update about "drilling being on course".....for the 2 wells ......along those lines.....it should rebound by 2p or so....so patience !, must hope no plunge to 6p....otherwise I should have listened to myself !.

required field - 11 Nov 2008 09:16 - 216 of 544

I wish we could have the right market cap here....at the moment it says 97 million...it is nowhere near that !.

mcmahons - 11 Nov 2008 09:42 - 217 of 544

R/F Market Cap is 28.43m
