A couple of years after we were first married was the first time my wife did the big Christmas dinner for my family. Everything was going well to impress her mother-in-law etc. until we got up (late) on Christmas morning, having left the Turkey in the oven with the timer set, to find that the oven had died! What a panic!

TIM - Don't terrify amber, she's worried enough ......... although thinking about it, we had a power cut!!

chocolat - 29 Nov 2004 19:27 - 19839 of 23498

Speaking of this Christmas dinner malarkey...NOT - T_I_M you're priceless ;)
I don't know what all the fuss is about.
I've been doing it for years - whoever comes, comes - and we always invite the old dears who are on their own now, for sheer entertainment - all you need to do is crack open the bubbly as soon as you can open your eyes, and the rest just falls into place..

optomistic - 29 Nov 2004 19:28 - 19840 of 23498

Choccie, can I be an old dear? I'll come on my own :-)

jj50 - 29 Nov 2004 19:29 - 19841 of 23498

True choccie, that's my approach :-) Are you a piscean too, or jeffmack? What's John Buchan doing on this website..

Sputnik - 29 Nov 2004 19:30 - 19842 of 23498

Choccie

If your short of a few old dears this xmas just give me a nod and i'll drop a couple of our old family members off, I'm sure you'll find them wonderfull.

optomistic - 29 Nov 2004 19:30 - 19843 of 23498

I'm a piscean

Join the club, opto :-)

chocolat - 29 Nov 2004 19:50 - 19845 of 23498

You're more than welcome, opto :)
Actually, Sputtie, our old dears aren't rellies, but they are potty - that's what makes them so delightful.
And it makes the time with the rellies pass more pleasantly ;)
...although 'pleasant' and 'rellies' don't belong in the same phrase..

optomistic - 29 Nov 2004 19:52 - 19846 of 23498

Another Guiness then I'm away. Are you drying out jj? the house that is :-)

chocolat - 29 Nov 2004 19:54 - 19847 of 23498
