THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Govt Wins Vote On Capping Rise In Benefits
Sky News – 8 minutes ago.. .

MPs have voted to back the Government's plans for a 1% cap on annual rises in most working-age welfare payments and tax credits.

After heated exchanges during a Commons debate, politicians voted in favour of the legislation at a second reading by 324 to 268 - a majority of 56.

The Welfare Benefits Up-rating Bill limits rises in most working-age benefits to 1% in 2014/15 and 2015/2016 instead of linking them to inflation. Similar measures for 2013/14 will be introduced separately.

The plan is aimed at slashing £5bn from the welfare bill over the next five years.

I bet a lot of the workforce out there would not mind a 1% rise, after all they are paying for the above .

Bradford City established a platform to spring another stunning Capital One Cup shock and reach Wembley with victory over Aston Villa at Valley Parade.

Phil Parkinson's League Two side - 60 places beneath Premier League Villa - made light of that gap on a thunderous night in Yorkshire to establish a crucial advantage in the semi-final first leg.

thousands of girls under 22 have at least 3 kids claiming over with all benefits £ 467 aweek how many working class people clearer after paying to get to work £300 per week not a lot .
the system of benefits is a national disgrace paying girls more than a worker to breed like rats .

Fred1new - 09 Jan 2013 08:50 - 19914 of 81564

Tanker,

You seem to know a lot about rats.

What do you have in common with them?

optomistic - 09 Jan 2013 10:50 - 19918 of 81564

TANKER....agree with that. It's all over the country...and we can't stand the cost! Take that away and the cost of the immigrant tossers and we have a chance of squaring the books, even then it will take a long time...would be a lot quicker if we stopped fighting wars!

Fred1new - 09 Jan 2013 11:37 - 19919 of 81564

Phew,

I am glad you got that off your chest.

funny pm

Davai - 09 Jan 2013 14:58 - 19925 of 81564

I've been saying the same for years and am probably the only person here to have only ever voted UKIP. Was always a wasted vote until recently. There is a fine line i guess between patriotism being mistaken for rascism. A rascist i am not, but our borders have been far too lapse for far too long.
I returned to my home town to visit family and friends last year and went out for a night out... we had a Polish taxi driver on the way in and lo and behold another on the way back at the end of the night.
Do i have anything against the Polish? of course not, love the people. However, upon conversation he revealed he had invited no less than six of his friends over of which they share a flat and each earn around £500 a week, they keep what they need to live on and send the rest back to family in Poland. That was just one driver.... multiply that by the thousands in my city and then by the number of cities throughout the UK....
That's a hell of a lot of Sterling going abroad each week. It doesn't matter if they do pay taxes to our HMG, the rest leaves our borders to support another economy ie, it doesn't get put back into the local economy.

Its fair to say that we enjoy the same freedom, being able to work in any EU country, but i don't think any other country compares to the plight of the UK. Even in the south of France or Spain where it is like Expat land, the majority are retirees.
I realise also that the topic is aimed more towards illegal immigrants and the welfare benefits towards cheats/single mothers with multiple children etc and not so much towards others from EU countries... i was just sharing an observation...

TANKER - 09 Jan 2013 15:08 - 19926 of 81564

no but the pound shop is full of them

Fred1new - 09 Jan 2013 15:16 - 19927 of 81564

Davai,

I think it is disgusting how much Sterling OAP export to Spain, France and Portugal in order to sit on their backsides in the sun.

Using their B. facilities as if they belong to them.

And the amount of sterling exported by Eazyjet by holiday makers and those on expenses to the Bahamas and Cayman Isles and Austria.

They should spend what they earn the B. UK..

Pull up the draw bridges. It is time for fortress Birmingham.

As a Celt I think all those limey Bs. should be exported on slow boats back to Europe.

Do the B_____s good to live with those _____.

Davai - 09 Jan 2013 15:35 - 19928 of 81564

True Fred, but somewhat the opposite equation. If they choose to move abroad and spend in the country in which they have retired, so be it... at least (hopefully) they paid taxes to HMG all their lives. I would have no problem with my example taxi drivers if they were bringing all of their Zloty here and spending it in our own economy...

TANKER - 09 Jan 2013 15:45 - 19929 of 81564

fred you have one thing wrong when in spain the doctor wants is money in cash or he
will not see you .
unlike in the uk all these immigrants get it for free .
if a brittish person wants to work in the EU he can not afford the medical insurance
but all immigrants get it for free in the uk
and they say we are all one in the EU so why do wehave to pay then
