THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Being a practising economist is not that much of a recommendation. Cable is a bit of a tax and spend type similar to Labour. Ken Clarke is probably the best Chancellor in recent memory. He had a law degree and was a barrister. At least Osborne was the shadow Chancellor. By the way Cable has praised Osborne several times over the last 2 years and has said he is on the right track.

Praising Osborne, is I suppose morally better than stabbing him in the back.

However, sometimes, I think there is not enough immorality to go around.

Tickets for the Shard sell despite steep prices

High entry prices have not deterred tourists wanting to see London from the top of the Shard, the UK's tallest building, when it opens to visitors.

From 1 February visitors will get a panoramic view of the capital from the building next to London Bridge station.

The viewing platform is sited 243m (800ft) up on the Shard which is 310m (1,016ft) tall.

The Shard - cheaper than the Empire State Building at $42 (to go all the way to the top).

Perspective? None

Honda is planning to cut 800 jobs at its Swindon plant, blaming weak demand across Europe.

It is the first time the Japanese carmaker has cut jobs in the UK since it began manufacturing there in 1992.

The Swindon plant, which produces the Civic, Jazz and CR-V models, employs 3,500 people, having added 500 to the workforce a year ago.
most are immigrants so good news
