FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

Once it dawned on me that the far east are probably celebrating the Chinese new year I decided that I would give the fts a miss until at least lunch time'ish.

cynic - 08 Feb 2016 11:08 - 20001 of 21973

it's all a bit fingers x'ed in the present climate, but even if wrong call initially, there's a good chance that it will come right in due course, and quite possibly during the course of the day

Stan - 08 Feb 2016 12:06 - 20002 of 21973

I will leave you chaps at the coal face as I have an anniversary to celebrate with my beloved.

Balerboy - 08 Feb 2016 12:14 - 20003 of 21973

cynic - 09 Feb 2016 08:37 - 20013 of 21973

it wouldn't surprise me at all .... in fact, DOW was all over the place last night, recovering nearly 200 points (i think) from its low
