Hello traders!

US stocks were mixed in late trade, as the Dow outperformed the other major averages on a ruling favorable to Altria Group while investors eagerly awaited Friday's monthly unemployment report.

The Dow Jones Industrials were last up 65.62 points at 11,217 while the S&P500 was off its best levels, up 2.16 points at 1,273.07 and the Nasdaq Composite gave up gains to trade 1.16 points lower at 2,152.18.

Good morning traders!

The US close last night saw the Dow up 73.48 at 11225.30, the Nasdaq up 1.75 at 2155.09 and the S&P500 ahead 3.17 at 1274.08.

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning down 19.16 points at 16,421.83, while the Nikkei was recently up 53.5 points at 15,374.90.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for delivery in August, was at $74.79 down 35 cents from $75.14 per barrel in late US trade.
