In the US tonight, the Dow rose 212.19 to 11,011.42 with the S&P500 up 22.95 to 1,259.81, and the Nasdaq Composite ahead 37.49 at 2,080.71.

Good morning traders!

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning up 309.09 points at 16,406.63, the Nikkei was recently up 373.1 points at 14,873.36.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for delivery in September, was at $75.17 per barrel, up 40 cents. September has now become the front month contract for the market.

I confess i find it amazing if not a bit worrying that the markets are currently ignoring what would seem to a steady/rapid escalation of hostilities in M/E ...... My unvarnished opinion on the behaviour of my own "brethren" is unprintable .... suffice it to say that I am appalled and ashamed .... That said, Hezbollah look to be just a bunch of horrendously dangerous zealots and lunatics with no apparent aim other than to create total mayhem, ostensibly to destroy (how?) Israel.
