In the US tonight, according to preliminary calculations, the Dow fell 74.76 to 11,331.44. The Nasdaq fell 12.55 to 2,155.29 and the S&P500 was off 6.24 at 1,294.02.

Good morning traders!

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning up 69.90 points at 17,166.34, while the Nikkei was recently at 16,078.16, up 65.75 points.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for October delivery, was down 34 cents at $66.98 a barrel from its close of $67.32 in US trading overnight.
