last up 23 points at 12,533.

The S&P 500 rose 2 points to 1,439, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 8.8 points
to 2,459.

In Asia today, the Nikkei ended the morning 76.19 points lower at 17,467.90, while the Hong Kong markets are closed for the day.

New York Mercantile Exchange's main oil futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in May, was down 9 cents at $64.29 a barrel from $64.38 in late trading in the US overnight.
