In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 39.36 points at 16,953.82, while the
Hang Seng ended the morning up 36.85 points at 21,973.58.

Crude oil for September delivery dropped as much as 48 cents to $71.58 a barrel,
after falling as much as $3.42 to $72.06 a barrel on the New York Mercantile
Exchange Monday.
