Xenova was taken over by an American company called Celtic Pharma Development UK in September 2005 by scheme of arrangement.
Your broker should have contacted you to see whether you wanted to accept 1 nominated Secured Loan Note in Celtic Pharma for every 10 Xenova shares that you held at the time.
The loan notes are not tradeable in CREST, so you would have to trade by way of certificates.
The way that I see it, you should still be able to claim your share in Celtic Pharma, as you havn't been paid for your holdings in XEN.
The only reason that I know this is because I took the cash as I considered that it may be awkward to trade Celtic.
Try your brokers Corporate Actions Department and good luck.
