Europe's biggest banks may need to raise 240bn (211bn) annually for the next three years to fund existing and new businesses, Citigroup analysts have warned.

On Monday, Reuters citied Spanish media on a story that the Bank of Spain was considering raising the minimum amount banks must hold in provisions against potential losses on property assets.

Good morning traders!

In the US last night, the Dow lost 19 points at 10,384, the Nasdaq fell 2 points at
2,242 and the S&P500 slipped a point to 1,108.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was last down 44.9 points at 10,355.57, while the Hang
Seng ended the morning up 252.24 points at 20,629.51.

Crude oil traded at $80.11 a barrel on Nymex.
