The CAMPERVAN thread (CVAN)

Juzzle - 24 Jun 2010 14:31

If comments on other threads is anything to go by, there's evidently a few campervanners around here - so it seems a shame not to launch a thread ;o)

I will flesh out the header shortly, but meanwhile I'm using 'Rosie' -- as featured on
webbo.weebly.com

Feel free to post images and events

There is a website dedicated specifically to 1980s-1990s VW T25/T3 campervans at www.club80-90.co.uk

They're called motorhomes now & cost at least 25k new!

Harrycat - afficionados of the smaller vans still make a distinction between campervans and motorhomes. Though I'm not sure exactly where the line is drawn ;o)

And yes, they do cost a fortune if bought new or near-new.

The one I slept this month (28 year old 'Rosie') is definitely a campervan not a motorhome, and is more likely to be spotted up a dirt track, or along a shore, or in a quiet layby, rather than on some smart expensive site where the highly polished big machines pose.

Juzzle.up a dirt track with 28 year old Rosieyou aint a pervvy are you?

HARRYCAT - 25 Jun 2010 08:57 - 8 of 11

Aren't they the type of campervans which used to line the side of the road in Earls Court once a year, being sold off to the next generation of surfer/gap year/bum? I think the visiting Aussies uesd to quite like them. Nowhere to plug the MP3 so maybe doesn't happen any more!

Loads of them still changing hands, harrycat, and being restored by each new owner, and meeting up at rallies. And loads of website forums dedicated to them.
