In the US last night, the Dow lost 112 points to 17,069 the Nasdaq lost 57 points to 4,548 and the S&P 500 lost 17 points at 1,973.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 64.41 points at 16,819.73 and the Hang Seng down 35.69 points at 22,634.81.

WTI crude oil traded at $55.93 a barrel and Brent at $59.86.

Gold settled at $1,193.90 an ounce.
