In the US on Friday, the Dow lost 163 points to 17,569 the Nasdaq lost 57 points to 5,089 and the S&P 500 lost 22 points at 2,080.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently down 215.64 points at 20,328.89 and the Hang Seng down 671.63 points at 24,456.78.

WTI crude oil traded at $48.14 a barrel and Brent at $54.62.

Gold settled at $1085.60 an ounce.

Getting a bit tired on the FTSE being down here and wondering how much longer the current mood can continue. Bought a few HSBA this morning at 565

Hi Skinny,

I'm thinking that China has the potential to drag on markets for some time, but I don't see it affecting the underlying recovery in UK and Europe.

Oil price is worrying me too and I think oil sub $50 is going to kill future investment in this sector.
