In the US last night, the Dow finished up 24 points to 16,375 the Nasdaq lost 17 points to 4,733 and the S&P 500 rose 2 points at 1,951.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently down 396.14 points at 17,786.25 and the Hang Seng down 127.00 points at 20,807.94.

WTI crude oil traded at $46.75 a barrel and Brent at $50.68.

Gold settled at $1,123.70 an ounce.
