In the US last night, the Dow lost 50 points to 17,082, the Nasdaq lost 42 points to 4,797 and the S&P 500 lost 13 points at 2,004.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently down 380.67 points at 17,854.67 and the Hang Seng down 143.72 points at 22,456.74.

WTI crude oil traded at $46.66 a barrel and Brent at $49.24.

Gold settled at $1165.80 an ounce.
