In the US last night, the Dow lost 157 points to 16,925, the Nasdaq lost 14 points to 4,783 and the S&P 500 lost 10 points at 1,994.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 241.98 points at 18,132.98 and the Hang Seng up 442.31 points at 22,882.22.

WTI crude oil traded at $46.64 a barrel and Brent at $49.15.

Gold settled at $1180.10 an ounce.
