Trading Indices or Individual Stocks ?

Magician - 18 Sep 2003 14:14

I tend to trade indices, mainly the S+P for various reasons as opposed to trading individual stocks.

What do most of you guys/gals do in here ?

Would be interested to know why you do what you do, in case I am missing something !

Same as u I do the indices rather than individual stocks ( am considering doing them now as well). The main one I have been doing is the Dow. I used to do the Ftse100 ( I tend to do the future months rather than daily to minimise loss ) but found it too slow. Dow was volatile but these days is not enough swing in it. I want to do the s+p500. Can u give me advise and what positions to take. I use Ig index spreadbetting. Can u suggest stop losses etc.
If we all help each other than maybe by learning from each other we can enhance our trades.

If you give man fish he will eat for a day- If you teach him how to fish he will eat everyday

good luck and god bless
