***Site downtime - Thursday 9th October @ 03:00 - COMPLETE

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 08 Oct 2003 12:59

Hello,

I will be taking MoneyAM down this evening to do an upgrade on our databases, this will include doubling the available memory in the machines and updating the version of the database software.

If there any any questions regarding this work, please post below.

Following discussions with MoneyAM board members, it has been decided that I will be lucky enough to take the site down at 3am to impact our users less.

I hope this will be ok.

I consider it totally unreasonable of MAM users to expect you to do updates at 3 am. There can't be many people incommoded if you were to take it offline at some time in the mid evening. It's not as if it's every day and they will end up with a better product.

Don't do it again. You can always say it's not allowed by the EU Working Time Directive, there's not that many here would know enough to contradict you.

Don't worry, J. There's always a bottle of champagne in the cafe fridge. Help yourself! Night!

Good evening,

After nearly an hour of downtime the updates have been completed, and our databases are now running (well?) will double the available memory.

Hopefully this will alleviate some of the problems that we have been seeing.

If you have any further questions regarding this work, please post below.
