Can't say - but Roche have a small place not far from me and rumours are its good but I wouldn't trust that as a reason for investing. However unlike many cancer treatments this one flew thru early phases with very good success and is in phase III. FDA have already promised fast track so could be on market in a year from results (due early to mid 2004).

The clinical data looks excellent and the technology is very sound. If this one passes phase III for the "Whispering disease" (Ovarian), called that here and in USA as the symptoms are so subtle, then you won't be able to get these shares for love or money. The technology means this treatment can be used to attack some of the most difficult cancers. The fact that Roche are so heavily committed is a huge endorsement but if it fails phase III these will plummet. Not for widows and orphans but unlike others that had promise (remember Scotia?) this one seems to work.

I bought in some time ago and been adding regularly (last at 40p) but is already at my max allowance as a % of total. I'm with Roche and they have better experts than me but not likely to do much before phase III results. No chance of takeover either, unless its Roche.

Good luck - because that is still needed if you invest.
