Oxus Gold (OXS)

Scottie - 04 Dec 2003 14:50

To clear up any confusion regarding the share allocation of Marakand shares to holders of Oxus shares. ------ Anyone buying shares in Oxus today will be entitled to a 'dividend' of 1 share in MKD for every 10 in OXS.

scotinvestor - 04 Dec 2003 15:13 - 2 of 52

thanks for that scottie

SCOTTIE,

Nice 6p rise today, to accompany the MKD distribution!

Scottie - 04 Dec 2003 18:55 - 5 of 52

I think the CEO of Oxus, Bill Trew is pretty smart, it's in the interests of all Oxus shareholders now to keep the Marakand share price at the present level!! Plus the fact, that until a definite date is set for the 'dividend' distribution, people are going to keep buying Oxus shares.

aimtrader - 05 Dec 2003 00:35 - 6 of 52

Oxus is looking strong now, I see the price rising until the special divi is confirmed.

I see over 100p before Christmas, maybe 110p.

aimtrader - 06 Dec 2003 00:15 - 7 of 52

Well a disappointing day for the OXS price, I had predicted another rise, but was proved wrong.

Gold up strongly in NY tonight, $406 at the close.

Monday should be a good day!

Have a good weekend all.

Scottie - 06 Dec 2003 10:51 - 8 of 52

I've got a funny feeling some people were selling their Oxus shares thinking that they had already qualified for their Marakand dividend. I hope not for their sakes.

Andy - 06 Dec 2003 13:24 - 9 of 52

Scottie,

You may well be right there!

And what a mistake that could turn out to be!

Scottie - 08 Dec 2003 12:31 - 10 of 52

Ticking up nicely again - along with the price of gold!

Scottie - 09 Dec 2003 13:52 - 11 of 52

Up another 2p already today and looking strong.

Scottie - 09 Dec 2003 17:50 - 12 of 52

Well Goldfinger was right after all, every Tom, Dick and Harry is climbing on board this one! lol

Scottie - 10 Dec 2003 13:20 - 14 of 52

Holding up amongst all the carnage today, and it's worth remembering that William de Broe's conservative valuation for Oxus is 118p against a price of gold of US$400.

Andy - 10 Dec 2003 13:25 - 15 of 52

Scottie,

Too true, I see Avocet has taken quite a clobbering!

I hold both, so at least Oxus is partially offsetting my AVM losses.

ajren,

re MLIIF, what's the epic of that fund please?

ajren - 10 Dec 2003 13:50 - 18 of 52

Hi Andy,
I am not being unhelpful but I do not know.I do not have time now to find out
but I suggest you get it from the Google search approach.rgds aj

Andy - 10 Dec 2003 13:56 - 19 of 52

Aj,

I checked, and couldn't find it!

I read the article, but upon searching through the various Merrill Lynch fund epics, it wasn't apparent which one the article was referring to, at least to me anyway.

I wanted to compare the performance of the fund with gold itself, and various gold miners for a guide.

aimtrader - 10 Dec 2003 20:56 - 20 of 52

all,

Oxus held up well today in my opinion, a very small drop, and Marakand rose!

Thinking of topping up.

Scottie - 10 Dec 2003 21:17 - 21 of 52

Going to top up tomorrow aimtrader, I was waiting for it to drop by about 2 or 3p today and it didn't happen. I think it is going to go up again by another 6 -10p before, and after, the results of the gold pour come out in the next few weeks.. And I'm really surprised Marakand has hardly retraced since it went loopy last Thursday!
