Updated 3/10 for Thursday's market.
Key DOW Levels for 3/11
UP Above 10,400
DN Current Trend
Steep Decline
Dow opens session sideways, but eventually powers lower to the Close.
From prior commentary, "...The index has now sold off over 200 points in just two sessions, which means we could begin to see a period of sideways movement while the index digests the prior move. Watch for a consolidation to form at the lows to indicate continued weakness..."
The Dow opened the session relatively flat this morning, as the index traded sideways forming a base at the lows of the prior decline, seen in the 15 Minute Chart. However, this wouldn't last long, as the morning is all the index needed to digest the prior move.
The Dow broke the morning range to the downside and continued sharply lower to the Close, ending the session lower by 160 points, also seen in the Daily and 60 Minute Charts.
Looking at the Daily Chart shows that the index has followed through solidly after breaking the major lower channel boundary at 10,550. The index has now taken a more than 300 point plunge in three days, which could mean it is oversold in the short term. Watch for either a reversal or a consolidation to form at the lows tomorrow. We could see a period of sideways movement until the market can decide its next move.
Short Term Dow
Short term, the Dow has formed a tight range at the lows of the 1 Minute Chart from 10,285 to 10,320. Watch for a break from this range for short term direction at the Open.
Medium Term Dow
In the medium term, we are still Short the Dow from 10,550 and will move stops down to 10,400 to lock in more profit. We will wait to enter Longs until 10,400 is crossed to the upside; using 20 point stops.
NASDAQ & S&P
The NASDAQ and S&P each pushed slowly sideways early in the session before the big late-day decline. Look for the formation of a continuation pattern to help decide the market's next medium term move. *
Summary
The Dow sold off sharply after trading sideways early in the day. Look for the index to form a range at the lows, as is typically the case after such an explosive move.

At last, those fat lazy Bears have come out of winter
hibernation. Now let's hope they are hungry.
Looking for 4500 to break on the FTSE to signal further
declines.
S@P needs to break below 1120 to enable the DOW/S@P
to go down to 10,000/1100 respectively.
The S@P P@F chart set a Bull trap when it went above
1160. Time to be careful that it doesn't now set a
Bear Trap below 1120. The main trend is still up in
US election year.
Just looking on all this as a healthy retracement, not
confirmation of the end of the Bull Run.
Melnibone.
