The Antonov - Rotax Max Cup
At a guess, Antonov might be working with Rotax.
Think of an application for a gearbox and Antonov could probably help, from the smallest applications like ratchet wrenches to the largest, like boats, etc.
Antonov have many transmission designs, from hybrid and CVT type designs, like in the Toyota Prius, to 6AT dual clutch type designs but more capable, eg have ability to go from any gear to an other.
I estimate efficiency of the latest designs might be approaching the mid 90s in percentage terms. I calculate this as follows.
5th generation Antonov 6-speed design has 5 unengaged sets of friction disks.
5*%=2.5% losses.
Direct drive in 4th and 5th 40% of the time, and the rest of the time power going through one planetary gearset, say 96% efficient. 0.6*4%=2.4% losses.
Total so far, 5% losses. Transmission oil pump, possibly electric, low pressure, maybe another 1%. Efficiency near 94%? And pretty liberal choice of the 6 gear ratios, they can be chosen independently.
(200Nm 4th generation 6-speed is 92% efficient at 120Nm between 1000 and 4000 RPM.)
4th generation 6-speed is suited to the world's 25m small cars.
5th generation is suited to larger cars.
6th generation design rumoured to be on its way, as are hybrid designs.
