After yesterdays nightmare it was nice to see more blue and green and almost no red. One exception was CUC. It posted what seemed like really good interim results and yes you guessed it. ..... the price went down.
Highlights for the six months ended 31 March 2004
60% increase in turnover to 4.43m (2003: 2.76m)
Operating profits before exceptional items up 29% to 566,000 (2003: 440,000)
Operating profits including the exceptional receipt of 470,000 keyman
insurance proceeds were 1.04m
81% increase in earnings per share to 3.01p (2003: 1.66p)
1.17m raised (after expenses) by way of a placing to new institutional
investors
Successful launch of Plug & Play BlueTM and ViewtechTM ranges
Post period end agreement with Kia Motors UK Ltd to supply rear seat
entertainment systems to their entire range of vehicles
If anyone knows why I should be interested to know. From all I read this is a good company returning to good ways after the sad death of its driving force earlier this year.
Any comments would be most welcome.

brain2brain,
This reaction is often seen, especially when a good set of results are expected, ie already "in the price". Once the results are realeased they are no longer "rumour" but "news".
Please forgive the clichbut it is an old stock market saying, "buy on the rumour, sell on the news"
Regards

The new Ch exec's share purchase also seems to have a negative effect.
Or is this just because the fortunes motor industry is so reliant upon the oil price?
Is this now undervalued?

Ooops sorry correction should have read.
