Anyone trade US stocks?

shadowfax - 18 May 2004 16:14

Being American I am so used to trading US stocks, the volatility is great if the trade is with you but does catch you badly on the turn. The commissions also make active trading beneficial.

Now I am based in the UK (2 year contract) I have looked at a lost of UK and European stocks and have traded a few via CMC and the rest via Ameritrade.

Currently hold Computer Sciences, Home Depot, Calpine, EMC and Gilead.

Shadowfax

Have thought about trading US for the reason you mention, there are good moves both ways but do not know the best way to do it. I think using UK spreads etc is not the way as you get ripped off, I think I read US costs are less. Can you use US sites and do you get a better deal than UK sites, how do they work ? Sorry for ignorance on this but would like info.

Cheers
