Mixed messages from the US market with the Dow closing down a tad but the Nasdaq recovering quite well. Asian markets mixed too but the Nikkei and Hang Seng both looking bright enough.

A few potentially interesting reports due today.

Axis-Shield is expected to report reduced interim losses but nothing too exciting.

BBA Group interims should come in about inline with last year.

Diageo's finals could be the big downer today with analysts expected pretax profit to be slightly short of last year. Divi should be up though.

Maybe the most interesting today will be Floors 2 Go. Been showing a lot of action lately. Have they got a secret up their sleeve?

Apart from that its all bananas today with Fyffe interims to savour. :-)

In the US, the DJIA closed 5.46 points down at 10,168.46. The Nasdaq Composite was 12.3 points better at 1,850.41 with the S&P500 1.67 points firmer at 1,105.91.
