* Merck - for investors recent times have been all pain for little gain.
* Pepsico - no small part of the shares' outperformance of recent years down to management execution.
* Boots - for now, lower prices and Boots sit well on the shelf together.

* How Office of National Statistics contributed to our pensions crisis - A house price crash may not be as bad a thing as the International Monetary Fund suggests.
Investment Column:
* Buy mmO2 for the long term - Hold National Grid Transco.

Hilary, thank you. Could you reveal your source, please?

hilary - 01 Oct 2004 13:13 - 5 of 15

Citywire, P.

Priscilla - 01 Oct 2004 13:21 - 6 of 15

Ah ha! Thanks

apple - 01 Oct 2004 13:39 - 7 of 15

No reply from MoneyAM but Hilary came up with the goods.

Many thanks Hilary!

apple - 01 Oct 2004 15:56 - 8 of 15

MoneyAM

Why don't you keep the NewsPaper roundup link on the homepage all day?

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 01 Oct 2004 15:59 - 9 of 15

apple,

if we get time, we do a news paper round up, but it is not a service to be relied upon.

nearly all the MoneyAM staff are at Clitheroe at the moment, so it wasn't done.

ptholden - 01 Oct 2004 16:14 - 10 of 15

Probably explains why my comment re charts hasn't been addressed!

apple - 01 Oct 2004 16:40 - 11 of 15

Mr Tullett, thanks for your reply.

Are you sure it wasn't done today?

Sometimes, it is there at 8am & the link is gone by 10am.

Just like yesterday when it was gone by midday.

You told me once before that it hadn't been done when it had & I found it again by checking the Internet explorer history list of pages visited.

Please STOP letting the link disappear before the day is over.

Thanks.

apple - 01 Oct 2004 16:53 - 12 of 15

BTW

Hilary, thanks again but where on the Citywire site did you get that?

When I clicked on their NewsPaper summary link, I didn't get much of a summary, hardly anything in fact.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 01 Oct 2004 17:55 - 13 of 15

apple,

Oh? If it disappears from the front page then it is due to our journalists feeling that other news stories are more relevent.

I will pass your comments on to them.

J.
