Current/Future portfolio advice

Crammond - 09 Nov 2004 16:09

I am a member of a team partisipating in the 2004 ProShare Student Investor Portfolio Challenge. Each team is given a virtual 100000 to invest over 3 Months with the obvious aim to gain as much profit as possible. Each team is fighting for an all expenses paid trip to New York and see the financial distric in action in the states.

I am looking for some advise as to how to progress with our portfolio. Can you make any suggestions as to how the portfolio below can be changed it would be most appriciated, and you may get a postcard from New York in a few months time!

Hi
Your portfolio contains v safe stocks but unlikely to put you at the top of any league on returns.
You could be better following a few of the leads posted Moneyam, Read as many as you can and learn through the thoughts/faults of others.
Don't take everything written as gospel they are mainly posted by people who play at share trading, but some of their ideas are sound. Furthermore their research is invaluable.

a couple of ideas: Petrel Resources, look at the post on this site read through the past months and buy Pet.
Falklands oil and gas a good punt
GOO (epic) another

good luck
