Traders Thread - Tuesday 8th February (TRAD)

Greystone - 07 Feb 2005 19:59

Greystone - 07 Feb 2005 20:00 - 2 of 12

Hello traders!

Mixed bag in the US tonight as the Dow blue chips and Nasdaq continue to trade in opposing directions. Not much real movement in either index.

Not a lot going on the UK tomorrow either, with BP among the few biggies expected in the action. I guess MONI and BDH might lend some excitement tho.

See you in the morning....

Greystone - 08 Feb 2005 06:23 - 3 of 12

Good morning traders and sailors!

US markets consolidated last night following the two-week rally. Mixed earnings news and general caution overcame the anticipated effect of falling oil prices.

The Dow closed 0.37 points shy at 10,715.76 with the Nasdaq 4.63 points lower at 2,082.03 and the S&P500 1.31 points down at 1,201.72.

Share prices closed higher in Hong Kong this morning in a half-day trading session ahead of the Chinese New Year holidays. The Hang Seng closed up 50.63 points at 13,845.63.

In Tokyo, shares closed mixed with gains in high-techs and China-related stocks such as steelmakers. Others succumbed to profit-taking after the Nikkei breached the psychological 11,500 resistance level. The Nikkei closed down 9.43 points at 11,490.43, after earlier hitting a high of 11,519.03.

Back with UK news when it emerges.....

Happy trading!

G.

hijeff,

there is nothing a website can do to cause this kind of action, but I am glad that you are able to login with MoneyAM - out of interest, what was the problem when you tried to login to MoneyAM?
