Traders Thread - Tuesday 12th April (TRAD)

Greystone - 11 Apr 2005 21:28

Greystone - 11 Apr 2005 21:28 - 2 of 12

Hello traders!

In the US, stocks are showing little activity, having barely moved during the past two hours, with the major indices range bound going into the close...

Though Treasurys did not close at session highs, modest buying interest prevented yields on the 10-year note from climbing back above the psychological 4.50% level.

In the final stretch, the Dow is trading 12.78 down at 10,448.56 with the Nasdaq 7.23 adrift at 1,992.12 and the S&P500 unchanged at 1,181.2.

See you in the morning with the UK goodies, including news from Tesco, M&S and S+N.....

Sleep tight!

Morning traders!

In the US the Dow finaly closed down 12.78 points at 10,448.66 with the Nasdaq 7.23 weaker and the S&P500 just above even at 1,181.21.

Crude oil futures had initially fallen for the sixth consecutive session and nearly fell below $52/bbl ($52.10), as OPEC pondered a possible 500K output increase and a likely oil strike in Nigeria had been averted, before closing at $53.71/bbl (+$0.39)...

In Asia, the picture is mixed this morning with Hong Kong trading slightly ahead and Tokyo down around 50 points. Oil was trading marginally higher at $53.75/bbl.

Back in a mo with any UK news of consequence....

Happy trading!

Morning all

I'm obviously missing something - why is MKS up? Was the market expecting the results to be worse or was there more?

Greystone - 12 Apr 2005 11:58 - 11 of 12

little woman - I think it was their confidence about the future that swung it. Doesn't really do it for me tho....
