Hello traders!

In the US, heading into the final hour of trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 17 points at 10,494 while the Nasdaq Composite lifted 11 points to 2,071 and the S&P500 rose 4 points to 1,199.

The Alan Greenspan testimony seems to have left everybody confused as much as anything.... :-)

Good morning traders!

Final numbers in the US last night saw the Dow close 26.16 ahead at 10,503.02 with the Nasdaq 16.73 to the good at 2,076.91 and the S&P500 6.26 stronger at 1,200.93

Crude oil futures soared 3.3% amid news that the first tropical storm of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season forced some large oil companies to remove personnel from oil platforms... Oil closed in NY at $54.28 a barrel, up $1.74.

In Asia this morning, Hong Kong closed the morning session 39.26 higher at 13,937.57. In Tokyo, the Nikkei was up 136.66 points at 11,297.54 at the break, buoyed by Intel's forecasts. Crude futures were up a further 18 cents at $54.46.
