Traders Thread - Friday 8th July (TRAD)

Greystone - 08 Jul 2005 06:46

Greystone - 08 Jul 2005 06:49 - 2 of 5

Good morning traders!

On a gloomy night for us all, US stocks closed decisively higher after investors concluded that prices were sufficiently punished earlier in the session in a sell-off triggered by deadly new terrorist attacks in central London.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 31.6 points to 10,302. The Nasdaq Composite ended up 7 points at 2,075, and the S&P500 up 2.93 points at 1,197.87.

In cautious trading in Asia this morning, the Hang Seng Index ended the first half of the session down 63.27 points or 0.45% at 13,967.54. The Nikkei was last showing ahead 46.29 points at 11,636.43.

Back with more in a mo.....
