Good morning traders!
US stocks closed sharply lower last night, with the Dow and the S&P500 marking four consecutive lower closes in a market unnerved by inflation worries.
The Dow closed down 30.26 points at 10,287.10, its weakest close since July 6th.
The S&P500 ended down 4.9 points at 1,191.49, its lowest finish since June 30th.
The Nasdaq Composite lost 18.94 points to close at 2,084.08, its lowest closing level since July 6th.
In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning up 43.01 points at 14,882.31, while the Nikkei was last trading 51.37 points at 13,308.14.
Oil prices recovered, New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in November, was up 43 cents at $61.79 a barrel from its close of $61.36 in the US yesterday.
Off to find some UK news....
Happy Friday!

HSX - "Based on these estimates, the group currently anticipates that pre-tax profit for the year ending Dec. 31 will be reduced by GBP25 million. This update is being given before the end of the Hurricane season and our full year result will depend on further hurricane activity and other potential claims in the remainder of the year" - 25m is 25% of forecast profits. Sounds bad, but then longer term rates will increase.Take your pick ;-)
EZJ numbers up 16.5%, Flybe up 25%
SUY strangely bullish for a retailer. Intends opening 17 stores. Hmm.
Have a nice Friday. I'll take it easy and tidy up as offshore work becons Monday morning.
