A weakening of crude prices sparked gains in the US tonight.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 35.70 points at 11,097.55 at its unofficial close. The S&P500 gained 4.69 points at 1,294.12 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 20.14 points to 2,307.18.
In Asia this morning, the Nikkei closed up 12.48 points at 16,205.43, while the Hang Seng reached halfway down 67.30 points at 15,882.59.
Oil continued to ease with New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in April, down 54 cents at $60.46 from its close of $61.00 in the US overnight.
