Hello traders!

The start of a new tax year in the morning; isn't that wonderful....! ;-)

In the US tonight, the Dow rose 35.70 points to 11,239.55. The benchmark index has now risen for three straight sessions.

The Nasdaq Composite rose 14.39 points to 2,359.75, taking the tech-rich index to a new five-year high and the S&P500 added 5.63 points to 1,311.56, its best closing level since May 21 2001.

Good morning traders!

In Asia today, the Hang Seng closed the morning up 163.45 points at 16,263.54, while the Nikkei was recently up 185.61 points at 17,429.59.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for May delivery was up 46 cents at $67.53 a barrel from its close of $67.07 in the US yesterday.
